Writer: Ron BurtonRon Burton

The transition to adulthood requires the ability to keep trying until you get it right

and that calls for SCAFFOLDING!

Not asking for help is like trying to build a house with a broken hammer without your eyeglasses.

Question: Why do people with ADHD hesitate to ask for help?

Answer: They get tired of being told they are incapable and/or they don't know what kind of help they need.

In construction, Scaffolding consists of a temporary lattice of supports, planks and ladders around construction sites safely capable of bearing the weight of construction workers and their tools.

A lot of construction workers would get hurt needlessly without scaffolding.

Construction is more difficult, takes a lot longer and is much more expensive, a lot like not asking for help when you need it.

Scaffolding for personal development means getting enough support to have more successes than failures while you work on constructing new skills.

Scaffolding helps you:

-- learn faster

-- get more done

-- get hurt less and

-- spend a lot less money
